OooPs! I put a little over half a quart of the " wrong kind " of oil in my car !?

I accidently put Spectrol SAE 10W 30 in my Buick Roadmaster and it almost immediately started to smoke ! The car has a Chevy 350 in it and I am wondering if this will cause any major damage to the engine ? I turned the car off as soon as I saw the smoke coming out the tail pipes ! The car only ran for a couple of minutes before I shut it off. I'm Planning on changing the oil today! Can the car be driven at all prior to changing oil ?
